My car used to "clunk" when I would hit bumps at just the right angle, but it doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as it was. I think I do still hear it every now and then, I have to hit something just the right way though.
Trust me you would be much happier w/ Bilsteins. For what it's worth, I had Michelin PS2's on my car (soft sidewall, very light weight) and my car was still stiff as sh$t with the stock KYB's.

Tires will change the ride quality more than any other single thing. I rode in a GSR with BFG KDW's and it rode smoother than my MR on A046 Advans. When I wore out my Advans I got Advan Sports and now it rides very very smooth, much better than the GSR that I mentioned before. They really absorb the potholes and bumps while still having as good or better than stock grip.

I replaceed my MR springs with a set of Swifts that were designed to go with the Belstiens. It lowered my car 1.3 in in the front and 3/4 in the rear. The ride is seems the same or smoother with the Swifts...

So I ordered up a set of Kumho ASXs to replace my completely bald Advans, should have them on by the end of the week. I am leaning towards going with MR Blistens and swift springs, but is there something coilover wise that would be similar to this setup? Maybe a set of Tein Basics or Megan Coilovers, but I have 0 experience with either...

Also, will the clunking go away or at least be reduced? I'm not sure if some people have it worse than others, but I have taken rides in 4-5 other '05 Evos, ranging from RSs to the MR, and none were as bad as my RS. Little bumps, big bumps, turning both ways, it's always there. If I have my music on at a normal listening volume I can't really hear anything. Turn the music off......wow.

I have what appears to be stock shocks and springs, but I think I may have some kind of aftermarkey rear sway bar because there are little rubber pads that some one wedged up in between the bar and the car.

I'm looking for either a shock/spring combo or coilover that will give me a smoother ride/not as harsh ride, but not be Buick mushy. My car is a daily driver and will not see any form of track any time soon.

Suggestions?
Not going to read through the entire thread...sorry if someone mentioned this already; but have you simply thought about getting a tire with a softer sidewall? Sometimes that makes all the difference in the world.

Yeah that was mentioned, good lookin out though, I ended up going with a set of Kumho ASXs. Should be a good tire.

Anyone experience the clunking, then it went away with an aftermarket suspension? I'm just wondering if I go with the MR Blistens that I will still have the clunking. I was reading the long thread on the "clunk" and from what most have said it was the the spring wasn't seated in the shock correctly and another part of the car would bump/rub against it, but correct me if I am wrong....

i don't know if this is true 100% but doest the eibach sport springs ride softer than stock ones.

i know that they do in my Mercedes c class i had, i originally had koni lowering springs and changed out with the eibach springs and the car rides much more smooth that it did before. i also had koni adjustable shocks in it as well which were much firmer obviously with stock mercedes bilstine shocks.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=66296

the spring rate chart on here even shows that they ride pretty soft compared to others.

I wouldn't compare springs across car lines....lots of variables there.

Those rates listed in that post are mush....and with that drop I doubt it would be very comfortable. You'd probably be severely overdamped and/or hit the bumpstops frequently.
