Factory Alignment

I've heard from a few people that the Evo comes from the factory with negative camber. Looking at my original set or Advans after 10k miles, it was obvious that this is the case (the Advans were much more worn on the inside). Does Mitsubishi set the camber that way for handling at the expense of even tire wear?

I got a new set of wheels with a fresher set of Advans, and I'd like to get as many miles out of them as possible. I'm considering getting the car aligned, but I'm concerned that an alignment may affect handling in a negative way. Being that the Evo's steering feel is as razor sharp as it is, I'm concerned that I may jeportize that incredible steering feel.

Any input would be appreciated.

It's the toe setting that kills the tires. Make sure you zero out the toe on all 4 wheels and that should help extend the life of your tires.

Ive gone through 2 sets of tires on mine in 6500 miles. Passenger side was the worst on my car. At 3500 miles it wouldnt pass PA state inspection because of the severe wear on the front tires. Ive been trying to get mine straitened out ever since, 2 alignments later and still burnin them up. Good luck.

The Advans are so stiff they will wear on the insides due -1 degree of camber while other tires won't. A lot of the razor sharp handling ot this car comes from the Advans so you pay for your thrills.

Nope. They refuse to cover any tire for wear related issues.
