need an oppinion

Alright so heres my problem, i need winter wheels and tires and im probably getting them for christmas but i don't know what to get. SO... here are my choices that i think i might have
1. just buy winter tires and put them on the stockers
2. buy the tirerack winter wheel and tire combo
3. buy rotas with a winter tire

now here is where it gets tricky
i want to get new wheels anyway so i really wanna get the rotas, but i still have a good amount of tread left on my stock tires so, should i just get a rota wheel that will fit my stock tires so i can use them in the winter and just buy winter tires and put them on my stockers. If i do that im limited to a 17 inch wheel, but is it not even worth it to get different wheels that are just 17s or should i get 18s. im not looking for anything really agressive or anything that would involve spacers or fender rolling. Alright i know its a lot so let me know what you guys think. also im driving an apex silver so if your going to refer wheels keep that in mind ahah

thanks

I'd do option #1 to get me through winter. Next I'd start doing reasearch on my next set of wheels and tires. If you decide to go with 17 then you'll have tires if not sell you stock yoko's for a few hundred dollars depending on miles and wear.

The use that money to buy your next set of wheels/tires.

I choose the 2 sets of wheels and tires also. I have two sets of BBS rims with 046's and Hankook W300 in 225/45/17.

Good luck

What do you mean you're "getting them for Xmas?" Does that mean someone else is buying them for you?

What's your budget for everything you're trying to do?

Cool...what's your overall budget? Do you have budget beyond the snow tires/wheels?

ask for xmas for a contribution toward the set of rims you REALLY want.

For now, just get some decent LM-22's for winter on the stockers.

+1. It's nice to order a tire/wheel combo and have everything come bolt-on ready to your door. You can also find a lot of bargains on higher end summer setups in the for sale sections. (be wary of cheap cast rims if you're doing more than DD).
