Have any of you guys tried these Semi Slicks out on the track? I am considering getting some shipped to Australia for my EVO III for track use

lol...
The NT01's have been one of the most popular tires on the Evo for a long time... many street tire track records were set with these tires.
Also consider the Falken RT-615 if you need better daily driving wet traction and/or want to save a few bucks.... other than that, NT01 rules

Not a semi-slick compared to the Hoosier or V710, but a very good tire for sure.
It's not setting street tire records except in street tire classes that allow really low wear ratings.

these are entry level r-compound tires...
ive had toyo R888 and advan AO48 and those just own the NT01...
Just like Warrtalon said its not a semi slick compared to Hoosier A6 R6 or v710..
and no its not setting any records...
good tire.. but their are better...

6/32" tread isn't a semi-slick.
Like mentioned, they are r-comps (not sure what entry-level means). Compare to RA1's and the new R888's.
I'll run one of the 3 next year on the track. Not sure which yet, but I've heard nothing but good things from the NT01's. Over on the NASA boards they are trying to bump it up and out of the R-comp 100 treadwear classification since it's doing so well.

it's a good all around tire. i will be getting a gently used set of them too. my friend i am getting them off of has used them for autocross, time trials, and for hill climbs.
they're not as competitive on the autocross as some of the hoosiers and other stickier tires, but they work quite well, and in hill climb he has sat several speed records.
i plan on most likely getting a second set of them once i burn off his set, i have gotten to drive his evo a couple times with the tires (it's a Street Mod car), and the level of grip is very nice, and they're reasonably priced too.

Robi set several track records with these if I'm not mistaken. I bought a set based upon his recommendation and have about 6 track days + about 4-5 days of street use, I've been very pleased. They are very sticky once they warm up and communicate well as to their level of grip, very predictable and very fun, especially on the street! However, don't consider these for wet weather usage, go with RA1's or RE01-R's for the wet, as I found out the hard way @ Sebring with intermittent rain, I Hydroplaned in turn 2 and spun around and gently bumped the wall, cracking my R tail light and scratching my rear fender (several other cars weren't so fortunate).
What do you want/need? A semi-slick, an r-comp, a summer street tire, or an all-season tire?
