coilovers making noises

I just got a set of Buddyclub coilovers used off a member here. Everything feels great driving, except I'm getting a strange noise from the passenger side front coilover at full-lock when the steering wheel is turned all the way to the left. Over bumps and uneven road or hard cornering, there are absolutely no noises. Its just when the wheel is almost completely turned (only to the left) at low speed. It's a clunky/grinding noise almost sounding like the spring is rotating, but that wouldn't make much sense b/c they're real coilovers with threaded basses.

I did some searching but most of the results I found were from people hearing noises over bumps and what not which is not the case for me. I have an appt for AMS to look at it on Thursday, I just thought I'd gather some ideas. Thanks

well I actually found a few more helpful threads. It seems its probably the pillow ball mount. It definitely doesn't sound like the spring itself, its more of a grinding noise.

^No I'm not really certain I'd be able to diagnose it by looking either

you need to tighten the lock nut below the needle valve adjustment. The lock nut is backing off from the cylinder. Mine made clunking noises from what you exactly describing only during slow turning. You have to loosen the lock nut below the needle valve, use a metric allen wrench and an open ended wrench to tighten the lock nut. But of course my coilovers are Megan track coilovers, but the top hat section is all designed the same.

Just in general, if you coilovers don't come with thrust bearings, its a good idea to add them:

See here for an example.

You'll have to track these down in the right size for your springs. It seems like you have a different issue, but these are still a good idea.
