Noises After Spring Install?

finished installing the front springs on my car and i drove it off of the driveway so i could park backwards and work on the rear springs. i noticed that when i turn the wheel all the way to the left and then turn it 1/4 to the right it makes a knock sound. i also hear a creaking noise after i turn the wheel 1 full turn either left or right. what are the noises that i'm hearing? will it go away after i get an alignment? i hope it's just because the springs are breaking in. please lemme know asap. thanks.

the springs are probably just seating. There are 1,XXX threads on this you might find some more results by searching.

well im 100% sure the knocking noise is coming from the front left wheel. if it doesnt stop im gonna reinstall the shock/spring and see if it goes away.

Sounds like your springs are settling or something wasn't tightened back down properly. Recheck your steps and be easy on it for the time being

either too loose or not seated
did you at lease put the rubber from bottom of the old spring on the new spring?

So I checked the spring and it looked like it was seated properly, but I went ahead and reinstalled the spring on the shock anyways. Now the steering wheel turns smoothly both ways and there's no more sounds. So do I have to break the springs in before I get an alignment or does it matter?

it would help to drive around a little that way its settled before the alignment and you won't need to re-align again

Okay now I'm worried. The noise went away for a day, but today I drove to murrieta and on the way I started hearing a deep rumble from the left front wheel well and I could feel the vibration with my feet. They happen when I'm driving straight and they only last for a split second. Then when I made a left turn into a parking spot I straightened the wheel and something felt like it dropped from the front left shock. Sometimes I feel tension when I try to turn the wheel fully to the left. Wtf is going on?

i think i might've figured out the problem. i searched and read a couple threads about people that had a similar problem and some people recommended to lubricate the front strut bearing. i dunno what lube to use, but i have some engine assembly lube. it says its good for bearings and prevents metal to metal contact or something. i'll try using that and see if it solves the problem.
