STU class Tire
Humm thats good news. Just read some things on the R1R that aren't promising. They aren't very stiff (compared to RE01R owner said). Also wear down very quick and can chunk if not shaven. Also said they were vague. Seems still for the $$$ the RE01R and now the Z1 are the guys to beat. I did read something that the RE11 is indeed coming out this year but its vague how soon the US will get it.

For all the national cars the Yokohama is the safe bet and the Dunlop is the one in testing. If price is no object (as you stated in the your first post) then RE01R is out. The Yokohama performs better in every situation.

The problem is most people wont realize the benefits until racing at a national level. Most people that just race to race would realize more difference with using correct tire pressures. Neovas are faster if you know what you are doing. To me if you have to ask what tire is better...well you dont know enough to realize the benefits between an RE01R, Z1, or Neova. If somebody got loads of money to burn go Neovas no questions asked. If you aren't worried about 2/10ths then the other two will suffice.
The OP asked a straight forward question and that is the straight forward answer. I have test the hankook, the falken, the bridgestone, the BFG, and the yok. The ones remaining to be tested are the R1R (low hopes) , kuhmo xs, and dunlop z1.
I'm not making this stuff up.

Did they do away with the Yokohama contingency money for National Tours this year? I wonder if anybody will switch the Bridgestones for that reason?
Too bad it really looks like the Yoks are faster.
Now shaved versus un-shaved that's my question for next year. I had two different sets of shaved Neovas last year that couldn't beat the times of a 100+ run full tread set. I still don't know if the unshaved set was a magical build date, the shaving wasn't done right, or if full tread is just better for the Neovas.

The Neovas 20,000 miles paid themselves against the stock advans in my case (11,000 miles) isn't that enough?
Wet driveability is the second reason.
In the NW the Neovas are on pretty fast cars (even local national champions in auto-x)
