coilover height measurment

Just installed a set of coilovers on my car. Its my 2nd time having coilovers btw.

The first time I wasn't **** about even ride height but I made sure each corner had same amount of thread on the corresponding side. This time I want to the car to look level on both sides before I get an alignment.

I'm satisfied with the height level I have right now. So I took a few different measurments. One was from ground to fender well. Second one was center of hub to fender well. Third one was from top of rim lip to fender well.

All three methods of measurment had inconsistent height differences. Like the front right would be 1/4" higher than driverside. Rear passenger side would be 1/4" higher than leftside.

Should I just leave it alone or adjust the side so its the same as other side?

always take the measurement from the fender lip to the center of your wheel bore. Make sure your car is at a leveled surface/ground.

I measure height from the pinch weld to the ground. Measuring from the fender will not keep the car level or even close to corner balanced. Tolerances from side to side are not very tight.

Having all 4 corners even in height does not mean the car is corner balanced. Corner balancing has to do with weight distribution. A corner balanced car is not going to have the exact height at all 4 corners because the car is not evenly balanced.

I'm well aware of this. I have my own scales.

Non the less .... measuring off the fender is not right.

from what i understand, measure from the frame. evos are notorious for the body panels not being even apparently.

Seriously, you spent the money on coilovers go a little further and do it right, get cornerweighted and not halfassed but proper.

Setting ride height and corner balancing are two different things. You can balance the car at multiple heights.

once again, measure ride height from the frame to the ground, then get her corner balanced.
