Hey guys need some help, recently my car went in to get a stock clamp back on the inatake tube going into the throttle body i beleive ( other one snapped off somehow ) Anyways, as im there a mechanic notices that my 2 front tires are very warn on the INSIDE of the tire, district manager is being a jackass and saying they wont give me new ones, im still fighting though. The car went in to get looked at and they said they couldnt find a prblem? Does anybody know what is causing this? 6K on the car!!!

Have you rotated the tires? The Evo has negative camber from the factory so it will wear the insides of the tires. Rotation and alignment helps them last longer. Alignment is covered under 12,000 miles - If it needs one. The rear insides wear more than the fronts normally, did you just rotate? If you want a good alignment you'll have to probably take it somewhere other than the dealer. Excessive toe will cause that type of wear as well.

Everyone that has owned an Evo has had this problem.Mitsubishi will give you nothing for your tires.

i remember reading that evos come from the factory with jacked up settings. I thought dealerships never cover wear and tear items...

Hey I read that the stock alignement is -1 deg camber in the front? is that true...(that much!?) how much camber in the rear?
If it is -1 deg in the front that is what will cause the inside of your tire wear

I went and got my car inspected 2 weeks ago and i had to purchase new front tires and my car only had 8,600 miles on them. Outside of tires were completely bald. Then the service dude said it would be $350 mounted and balanced. I like an idiot thought it was for both(knowing in the back of my head that was really cheap) but it didnt cross my mind that it was per tire until I got the bill!! To say the lest it was a very expensive trip to the dealer.

Oh damn, i didnt know it cam from the factory set a -1. Well i guess ya learn something new everyday.^^ Above, your outsides were warn? Just from turning hard or what?

I think they will replace the tires too if it was before 12,000 miles or 12 months whichever comes first. The dealer asked me if I wanted to change the tire, but I declined since I caught the abnormal wear pretty early at 7,000 miles.

I'm not sure. Service guy said i'm looking i didnt have to replace them all and sooner. I bought my car brand new in August of 2007, the car has little over 9,000miles on it. And I lucky i haven't had to replace tires earlier???? I dont get it, and they wont warrenty them or anything.

As far as warranty replacement on tires... from Mitsubishi? Are you kidding?

I put tein springs on and put off the alignment for 3 months because i couldn't find a place that could get the car up the ramp, long story short, by the time i got around to it the advans were TRASHED. so i need new tires as well. ALIGNMET is SO important don't screw around. put up the money. its better than ruining a g's worth of rubber.

+1... wear and tear.... it's like asking the dealer for new brake pads....

MY advans only lasted 8k miles......(fronts havin the worst wear). Tires would fall under the catogory of "Wear and Tear" , just like the clutch and brake pads...............hope everything works out

-1* is not a lot of camber.

Camber will not chew up the inside shoulder. Camber wear starts at about the middle of the tire.

Excessive toe will eat tires. It generally wears off just the shoulder.

10k is about average for the stock Advans. 15k is possible if you don't drive hard. I've heard of 20k, but if you get that you should have bought a Crown Vic instead.

Mitsu will not give you new tires.
