Your favorite tires?

I will be due for some new tires in a month or so, anyone have any favorites? I do most city driving, some highway, and the occasional track.

I have the BFGoodrich KDW's. Better than the Advans that were on there.

I love the stock Advans. I don't know what im going to get when they wear off, but I had some Michelin PS2s on my M3, and it was a great all around tire.

Michelin ps2 Great tire for all around use. Great for light track duty, quiet, handle low temps well(i live in the south so not too harsh of winter). Softer sidewall so you lose a little precision. I haven't had a tire i've been happier using. It will cost you though

I just had my Falken Azenis rt-615's mounted last week. I got them in 255/40/17. The grip on the things are amazing, i don't know how long they will last but I hope it's longer than the Advans.

I too run PS2's and have been very happy with them.

I hated the OE Advans.

You want grip? Potenza RE01R. IMO hands down the best tire for the money. If you want all season? Potenza Pole Positions!! If it's just DD all-seasoners... well that's not much of a requirement. You could get Some good all-season Kumhos for about 400 for all four. I have those on my car right now. For grip in daily driving, not too bad. But if you start getting spirited, or try tracking.. forget it... the grip sucks too much to get any really competitive times down.

I have Kumho Ecsta SPTs on the DSM, they are moderately priced and have great grip, a great tire for the money. I am searching for tires myself, a 255/35/18, summer wet/dry tire for the Evo. I've narrowed it down to the BF KDW 2, Nitto Invo, and Kumho Ecsta SPT.

I've heard comments about excessive road noise. What's your take on it?

My car is a DD... I found them to be noisy as all hell, they track all over the road, they ride horrible (thats what bothered me most) and they wear way too fast. I got 7K on them before the insides were almost toast. Before anyone says it, my alignment was fine. Did I mention they cost like $280ea, yeah no thanks...

To me they suck as a street tire, they are great for ultimate grip, but who needs that driving to work? Not me...

Thats why I say that.
