How bad it is to put spacers on stock wheels?

I'm picking up some wide fender (20mm).

I just don't want the car to look to funny. So how bad is it if I put spacers on the front so that they match the fenders better and not have the sunken in look?

Has anyone done this?

are you worried about messing with the suspension geometry? I believe you can go wider with no problems. There may be an upper limit on how wide you can go before you create drivability/handle issues. That information i dont know.

For handling effects, there is probably some trade off between stability and turnability.
not sure. The only practical thing i can think of is that your minimum turning radius might become a bit larger.

Just some ideas, im not at all an expert on this.

The turning radius doesn't bother me. It sucks already anyway.

I just didn't won't any suspension or funny tire wear issues.

What size spacers would you recommend if the fenders are 20mm?

I've run up to 15 mm on the front without problems, just make sure you have long enough studs to get a secure grip. The extra width up front will actually bias the car towards more oversteer (tail slide) which is always fun .

You shouldn't have any problems if you stay with a typical size spacer, say 15mm, or 20mm just don't get too crazy and throw on some home made 50mm spacers so you sit flush. Also make sure and use hubcentric rings.

I just want my wheels to look like stock wheels and fenders.

Where they are pretty much straight.
