Infamous shake under braking

I have DBA 4000s / Ferodo 2500s with about 2K miles on them and have the infamous steering wheel shake under braking. Will the re-bedding fix this? What do you guys recommend?

You can hit the rotors with a little sand paper to knock down some of the deposits and then rebed them.

Go get that resurfaced and stop slamming your brakes at high mph just for the fun of it. You are warping rotors.

Wow

A. You can't get slotted rotors resurfaced
B. I don't try to impress myself with how quickly I can stop my daily driver
C. If you truly think my rotors are warped, you're a moron!

Thanks for playing.

i got some pad transfer with those pads at the track last weekend, but a bit of normal street driving cleaned up it. Just try driving a little bit and seeing what happens.

Not trying to start anything, but vibration is normally a sign of warped rotors and you can have slotted rotors resurfaced. You cannot resurface drilled. Most machine shops just don't want to touch slotted rotors because if they don't do it right and take their time they can screw up their lathe tips.

I agree with everyone else though. Try to re-bed them 1st and than go from there.

+1. In fact this subject has been discussed by several colleagues in this forum in more or less detail. There is a technical paper on the Stoptech website where the author simply disregards warpage.

Many an Evo have developed this vibration under braking, mostly at speeds around or above 50-60 mph. While it is true that brake pad deposits would cause unsteadiness under braking, severe vibration is usually a symptom of warped rotors.

It would seem that OEM rotors are not a good match for the Brembos.
