GT Spec Trunk Cage....

Hey guys. I'm interested in stiffening up the chasis a little more and this kit looks really nice. I was wondering if anyone has installed on it on their Evo yet? Does it come with the rear strut tower brace as well? Just looking to get some feedback on this product. Looks nice though.

I use this trunk cage. It does come with a rear strut tower brace. As for feedback, just do a quick search. There have been several threads discussing the cage.

^^ What trunk mat is that? Looks hefty compared to the flimsy OE one.

It's a Ralliart. It's nicely made, not too heavy, and much more durable than stock. I got mine from the classifieds, but there are a couple of vendors selling it. IIRC, Works offers an upgraded mat, as well.

I have it and it works well. Came with all 4 bars and bolts into existing holes in the back.

That GTSpec cage is nice. I have the Works one that uses the RS bar from mitsu.

this must be a redesigned version?

compared to this one...

cause the top one looks like it fits without cutting the plastic cover.

The top pic is not an Evo, the bottom pic is an Evo. Top pic may be an STi?

I had the trunk cage a while back. I got a great deal on the regular rear strut bar so I sold the cage. I am going for more weight reduction as the cage is not that light. I could not tell that is was more stiff with the cage, but I do not autocross my Evo.

This is an STi trunk:

You can see the "AWD" sticker on the back window that is on the Subarus. The rear most bar that goes across the trunk has no bends in it for the Evo fitment.

thanks for the clarification. i bought one from another member and i was wondering if i bought the older version. i guess there is only one version.

i wished the evo was curved too. i hate the fact that i have to cut out the plastic pieces in the trunk.

if anyone has some plastic pieces pre-cut you want to sell, PM me. thanks.

You don't have to cut anything, just take all the plastic out
