EBC brakes red

anyone has any had any experience with these brakes. I put them on yesterday with new drill slotted rotors and im getting alot of squeaking. I drove 50 miles so far so i think they should be wore in.

I have never used them, but from what I have use in the past, its the metallic brake pads that do a lot of the squeaking. I'm not sure what the EBC red brake pads are made of.

I have the EBC yellow stuff. Really like them, but you will get some occasional noise. Very streetable. The yellow stuff is actually a harder compound than the red stuff, unless I'm mistaken. I would have thought the order from softest to hardest would have been green->yellow-> red. I think there is one other colour out there. Blue maybe?

I did a series of low speed stops when I first got them and then medium speed stops after 200 or so miles. Squeaks stopped after that. No hard stopping for atleast 1K. Just be easy on them and bed them in some before you go DD the car.

Did you re-use the stock shims from the backof the stock pads? Also did you use copper anti-sieze the back of the new brake pads? The break in instructions come with the EBC red stuff pads BTW. The pads also have a break in compound on them also...

I used Green stuff before on another car and EBC will squeak for about thousand miles before the wear in coating comes off. My opinion of EBC is not great. I think they dust way too much, take for ever to set in, and wear out too quick for the street.

I hope you cleanened your new rotors off with brake cleaner---or you have an oily residue on those pads that will have them squealing for a while.
