Well I cannot afford STU because is a no ending expensive class if you really want to be competitive . Nothing against it, I'll be doing it if I was single and no baby. At one time I was competing in SM, end up expending $12000 to be competitive.

So I have to find adjustable struts for no so I can go to nationals, locally now I'm doing well with alignment and R-compoud tires, not enough for Nationals.

The question is were to find them?

Are you sure about that? STU has a _lower_ PAX than AS, so those cars aren't even as fast. They can't really do that many mods, and the majority of the money would be in the coilovers. For AS, you're going to have to spend a boatload on shocks, which will not even be a completely proper setup as Dave mentioned. You will just be bastardizing the setup to be competitive in a class that doesn't fit the Evo well. In the end, you'll be way outmatched by S2000s, Porsches, and C4 Vettes. Out of 60+ participants in AS at Nats last year, there wasn't one Evo. There were only 2 STIs, and one did finish 6th, so maybe there is hope.

I think it will cost a lot of money to have an Evo that is setup strangely and not in a manner that is conducive to other types of racing or even daily driving, and I don't think it will be competitively nationally at all. You'll have to be on 275/40-17 Hoosiers or V710s in addition to $5k shocks to make a dent probably. If you do it anyway, I'll be cheering for you.

Crazyevo9, if you want help with an STU setup, this is not the place to ask. I may be forgetting, but I thought I had already mentioned that you should go to the Motorsports forum and reading the huge STU setup thread. We have some top national competitors right here on this forum.

Andres, I am not sure how you are arriving at the conclusion that STU is a "no ending expense class." If you are talking about wanting to be Nationally competitive in any class in an Evo, then you can probably afford STU in an Evo. It's one of the more affordable classes that an Evo can be in, and be competitive in. In short, STU:

Street tires up to 245
Turbo back exhaust with cat
Coilovers
Intake up to turbo if you want, no other mods past turbo itself (Ic pipes, FMIC, etc.)
Exhaust mani if you want
Stock ECU re-flashes and piggyback controllers
...that's about it for significant power mods!

STU is an excellent class to start and progress in with just basic and worthwhile mods and it's what I run.
There are two STU Prep threads in the motorsport section, one for '07 and one for '08. I highly recommend you read them both.
Also, you can download the 2008 SCCA classing rules for free from the SCCA website and it explains what is allowed and what isn't. I'd explain more but I have to run to work. I'd be glad to help you via PM as well.

To answer the OP's mod questions, I can't remember exactly what is included in the BR/Warrtalon package, but IIRC it includes a MBC, wich is not STU legal.

Sorry, I got carried off topic.

Coilovers:
KW, Bilstein, JRZ, Zzyzx, Moton, and a few others. Don't bother with anything below Bilstein or KW.
