Newb question...

Just bought an 03 gsr. I've been hearing a noise come from my driver's side rear when driving. My abs light is on... and always lit in my cluster. Is that light suppose to be on? Thx for any help

The light is not supposed to be on. It means there is a problem. Try a search. I came up with several threads pointing to bad sensors. Go to autozone and have them pull the codes on the car. That should at least point you in a direction.

check for the obvious: pad life and brake fluid level. Most cars on the road haven't had their fluid change so I suggest you do that to keep moisture at bay.

abs light is definitely not meant to be on all the time. does the noise sound like abs pump activating? could be a faulty sensor like mentioned. definitely pull codes.

thx for the info... yeah it does sound like its pumping and i feel vibration in my brakes. I'm going to get the codes pulled

it definitely means you are running very low on brake fluid and your brakes are probably toast already. get new pads and add some brake fluid ASAP.
