For the most part they hold up very well. They are just heavy.

i have seen a several pictures of them shearing at the spokes.

worst offenders are the attacks and sub-zeros.

From that thread

All wheels we produce passed JWL and VIA certification just like the SSR or Volks or other well known Japanese brand.

I that's good enough for me.

BTW, I run Rotas. But of course I've never had a high speed crash in them, othe wheel breaking apart would be the least of my worries during that time.

Well, my personal experience with Rotas have been positive so far because I just got them this year. Yes, they are heavier, but the price can't be beat for a daily driven set. Also, all the post/pics of rotas breaking are old. I think it's a worry of the past and shouldn't be held against them. You be the judge. Here's to Rotas

i'm glad thats good enough for you. but theres enough threads about failures - to make you wonder if it's worth the risk. For some people its not.
I would probably still rock them.

nothing at all is wrong with them they have been aproved time and time again by plenty of official people if thats what you are looking for example sport compact car did testing on them and found them to be just as good as any other wheel ams has used them on there drag car for there light weight the slip model and plenty of other high end cars do to. they cheap and light what more could you ask for from a $100 wheel ? but yes they do copy other peoples designs id like to see any wheel last thru some crashes even volks cen28 or te37 and those are there strongest wheels

The question is the weight
Do you know the weight of Tourqe Drift in 18?

I have seen the failures pictures, but the question is how the crash happened

the cracks are from auto-x and road racing. not too many thin spoke wheels will hold up to a crash - forged or cast.

That is what I ment
If it was on normal road use or in some race situation...
I have a set of racing speedlines for such events, not going there on stock wheels
Almost all ¨standard¨ wheels are to soft for slicks
Are rotas ¨soft¨ for normal road?

I bought some tima ago cheep rims for my normal car and I was just changing them around as the bend if you just look at them
So at the end of the day I bought another good set, but this costs me much more in total and I don´t want to be in same situation again

where are you getting this info? there are no problems with Rota's for track use or autox at all. the new wheels are also really light considering they are a cast wheel.

I'd say the only broken images you see are from accidents where the wheel actually hits a curb or pothole. There was a bad batch of attacks in 2002 but there hasn't been a single issue since.

for those questioning if you can use them on the track.... subydude/wheeldude sponsors one of the top subaru time attack teams that is winning a ton of events. they run the Rota P45R and Rota Torque R
