Rota wheels - what is wrong with them?
^are u funking serious??! after an 150mph accident, the driver is probably dead. at that point, who cares what kind of rims u got on. I have rotas and like them alot. i most definitely will buy another set in the future.
One point
I had on my VW copy of the Audi A8 rims copy
run trough some holes and they never broke, they BEND!
If wheel has pook quality material it bend first, than broke (but if you crash in 150+ you don´t care about the wheels, you need a roll cage and BIG luck to stay in one piece)

And to the cast process
Not all cast wheel are crap. OZ for example has cast wheels as well.
To be fair they use good materials, but high brand margin as well
So:
1) Gravity cast - the worst you can get
Wheels made by this technology are weak, heavy... Usually most of the stock rims on normal cars use this technology. Al is just casted to the form. Air can create there small boubles etc
2) presure cast - still casting, but it is going under pressure. Rotating mould can be ussed as well. Typical examples are Speedline Corse series wheels or the new OZ HDL or how they call them
The advatage is they are not so expencive as forged and not heavy as gravity casts. It is somewhere in the middle
3) Forged - best, light, hard, expencive (BBS eg)
Only place I found information about what type of process is some wheel done was at tirerack. From my experiance I would recommed not to buy gravity casted wheels, but the question is how Rotas are made
Forget they are copys lets speak about technical side
No guesses! No feelings!
Just facts

Dude it was a joke about the rims. Im not making fun of the fact that the car is all banged up and that the driver probably got seriously hurt or killed.
my only gripes about rotas are the weight issue and the copy designs. other than that they're quality wheels (oem quality). enkies also copy designs but they have some originals so people don't **** on them as hard...
I never had any issues with the two sets of Rotas I had on my other car. I had a set of Subzero's and Slipstreams. I tracked the car heavily and they worked great. IMO if you're looking for a nice looking inexpensive wheel, Rota is hard to beat. And personally, who cares if they are a copy of something else, if you can't afford the original design, go for a copy. It's a wheel, not a heart or a lung.
