Coilovers question..

my friend drives a 06 MR, he bought a new set of Megan coilovers with te street spring no longer than 5 months ago; autocrossed 5 events, and one of the fronts is leaking oil and they're noise and he can see as he described a loose piece.

Is this common with the Megans? I was thinking about the track ones, no anymore for now

thanks

Andres

Get it warrantied. They have a 1 year warranty.

I am not a big fan of BC/Megan.

Go back to the MR Bilsteins and get a set of good springs - aka Swifts or GTWorx.

I have an MR too, and the lowering springs will do the trick.
make sure you buy the ones that are specific for the MR though.
you don't want to blow the bilsteins.

Tell him to get the coilovers warrantied, Megan is VERY good in my experience when it comes to replacing broken stuff.

Fix them under warranty and sell them and get something better. Megan = FTL!

Good enough for Autocross? Better than coilovers?

Thanks

Excellent information,..now since you seem to have so much experience ; for my car (an SE), could I get springs and anti-sway bars with the KYB's and get good results? Actually , besides having a smoother ride, what other advantage do the Mr's struts have over mine?

Thank you very much

Andres

Yes, the KYBs would also work well for you with the Swift springs and sway bars. The valving on the MR Bilsteins is different than the KYBs. So that would also create some differences.
