Well, I chose to go with the Sumitomo HTRZIII's this past spring and I love them. They only cost $93/each and have done well in autocross, daily-driving, and in some pretty hard rain storms.
Let us know what you want to spend, how long you'd like the tire to last, and what sort of performance you want to get out of them.

im willin to spend up to 600ish but obviously the cheaper i can find a good tire the better. im not lookin for ridiculously long tread life or a gummy tire that'l wear out in a few thousand miles either. id rather have a little extra performance from a softer tire then a tire that'l go a few thousand miles longer. ive got Falken Azenis RT615's on there right now.
think i might stick with them. i didnt realize they got such great reviews.

I am very surprised that the first reply to this thread mentioned Sumitomo's. Those are terrible tires. $93/tire? That is just awful, and they would be completely useless in autox or any other competitive event.
If you already have a spare set of Winter rims/tires and are willing to spend $600, then your clear choice is the DUnlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec. Best performance for a great price and even has good wet traction. They are the dominant street tire in SCCA auto-x and don't cost much. The only reason not to get them would be if you care about longevity. These are quite a bit better than the RT-615s. I had RT-615s and replaced them with the Z1s - cost was within $10/tire. RT-615s don't last that long either - Z1s will be about the same.

^ Well, if the longevity is pretty comparable while all other actors are pretty much the same, it's still not bad, considering it's less than half the price of the Advans.

Yep, we didn't have any alternatives like the RE-01R or Z1s a few years ago, so RT-615s were our best bang-for-buck. Now, with Z1s blowing away RT-615s in both wet and dry while only costing $10-15 more per tire, it's a no-brainer. The RE-01Rs are superior as well, but they cost more and are slight behind the Z1s.
