new tires
Any issues in lowered applications? And are they as wide as other 255s (minus the RT-615s)? Because if the 235s are pretty identical to the factory 235s then I might just stick with those to keep things identical to stock.
2) These are wider than the RT-615s in the same size, but not so wide that they bulge over the edge of the rim like some would expect with a 255 on an 8" rim
3) I think you would be VERY well suited with these in the stock size 235/45-17, because the 255/40 doesn't really give you much extra, since the full contact patch is not utilized. It's just that the price is similar, you do get a little more contact patch, the overall diameter is almost identical (same revs), and you could easily slap these on some 17X9s if you happen to upgrade rims in the near future. However, stock sized Z1s would be great.

1) Depends on what you mean by "lowered." My car has a race suspension that is built for pretty high-level competition. As a result, it is lower than stock, but I never refer to it as lowered. I race on 285/30-18 tires and drive daily on 255/40-17 on 17X8 (stock BBS) daily, but my fenders are rolled due to the race setup. However, 255/40-17 on stock rims has been known to fit just fine even on lowered setups, but I'm sure there are occasional exceptions depending on the alignment and how low it is.

I'm curious about this myself. On DiscountTire there was one review of them by an Evo IX owner, the guy liked them (though that doesn't say much).

The DZ 101s are a good cruising tire, but get the Z1 for max grip.
