Bilstein HDs (listed as Sports - Heavy Duty (HD) and Bilstein OEM (aka MR).

Fronts: F4-VE3-B843-H0
Rears: F4-BE5-B844-H0

These are not what comes on the MR - they have different valving. And you cannot get the MRs from Bilstein - they are a dealer only part. Last time I checked, $600 or so a front strut each.

oh ok so as fire as ride quality/performance where would the mr's fit? the hd's are like $107 at tire rack, sports are $220 and i can get a set of 4 mr's for $500 on here with very low miles. bottom line which to choose?
oh yeah just for daily driving

MRs are softer. For DD, those are great.

Dont forget those are priced for 1 strut on TireRack.

Could go either way. Depends on wants. $175 diffence, new v. used. Slightly different ride quality.

Contact Andrew at GTWorx for the HDs - $675 for all 4 new.

yeah i know they're priced each, so 500 for all 4 barely used(3k miles) off a mr would be a good choice.

is that 675 shipped?

i just want something that will work well with lowering springs. not sure what brand i'm getting yet. i was thinking gtworks/swift/or tanabe gf210.

i'm looking for more than a inch of drop all around. i'm willing to lose a small amount of performance for more of a drop because i won't be tracking the car.

know anywhere where i can get custom springs with custom rates? i really want a 1 3/4" all around but not sure what spring rates would work with that the best.

thanks for the responses

Either the MRs or the HDs would work well with those springs. Remember to get the correct type for the strut.

Swifts have a front drop of -1.4 and rear of -0.8. Any lower and you will really limit the amount of travel the susp will have. That will kill the struts if you have them bottom out all the time.

MR struts are around 650.00 for the fronts, 525.00 for the rears and thats each list from the dealer, so a good set of used MR's is a wise choice. I paid around 500.00 a set for each of the two sets I tested. I'm running new MR's now and they were $, but you can find them off of list price. I would go with the HD's if you can not find low mile MR's. You will not find custom springs as Smike Evo said they are not recomended.

well i have 2 used sets available one with 3k miles on them for $500 and another set with 10k onthem for $400 shipped. i would like an even drop all around thats why i was leaning toward the Tanabe GP210:.......256lbs(4.6k)....319lbs(5.7k)....1.5f / 1.0r or the RSR:**....................224lbs(4.0k)....280lbs(5 .0k)....1.4f / 1.4r. but i'm not sure about the progressive pring rates of the rsr's. what are the spring rates for the swifts and they are 1.4f and .9r correct? i'm not a big fan of a raked look but if i have to i will.

only reason i want to swap out the stock shocks/struts is for ride quality

You need to figure out what you want, and use the search function to read up on the various spring combos, there are plenty of threads out there.

umm.. i do know what i want, you just quoted it. it's hard to search while working. also the search function on here is kinda garbage. all i asked is the difference between hd's and mr's and i got that answer. all i asked for was the spring rates for the swifts because they are not on the sticky spring rate thread so i could compare to others. sorry for wasting your time

With the Swifts you wont get a "raked" look as it would seem cause of the offset numbers. It would actually even out the ride height as the car sits high in the front from the factory. Look at all the drop springs out there and the front always has more drop than the rear. The advice Smike and Indy gave you are spot on. Both are very knowledgeable about these already..........search some of their posts. GL

I got stock MR's and ordered some of Andrews GTWorx springs fwiw

I'm running the Sports on my car with H/R sport springs 2" drop, on 19's and the ride/handling is great. Was expecting them to be harsh but quite the opposite.
