Any type of lithium based grease. My favorite (which may or may not be lithium based) is Mobil One Synthetic Grease, about $7.99 a quart.

I got the clunk since day one too...
It does sound a lot like my M3 when the sway bar links
came loose...

I hit a curb at 40 (stupid-*** Virginia-style entry roads...) and the suspension fully compressed - no clunk... I have driven hard on crap roads, too - no clunk. Make sure you don't still have those shipping blocks in your suspension.

I know that I had to lube up the sway bars on my other cars every year or so to keep the nose down.

It's not a very loud noise... I first heard it in a quiet parking
lot going over bumps...

Anyone got to the bottom of this yet??
Those that dont have the clunks... close the window when you
go over those speed bumps (at low speed)... that's how I could
hear mine..

I'm also an M3 owner (twice) and
the suspension noise that I hear over speed bumps is a lot like bushing noise on my race car or my 95 M3.

Are we sure that the bushings are rubber and not black polyurethane.

Car has 928 miles as of today.

The noise is not noticeable at full boogie speeds, only a parking lot thing. Sounds like either bushings or loose drop links.

Thats so wierd. My Evo didnt do this at all when I first bought it but now at 14k miles it JUST started doing it. I know its not normal but its been going on for a while and it doesnt sound like anything is unsafe. It is definatley coming from my drivers side front. To me it sounds like a loose strut bearing or something. It ONLY happens if you hit a speed bump or turn the front wheels VERY aggresivly. I am going to take it apart sometime soon and see if I can narrow it down. I would hate to have those Mitsubishi monkeys working on my car. Then taking it for a little joyride!
