Tire noise

One of the more annoying features of the EVO is certainly the noise created by the OEM tires. Without discussing the potential loss of performance, what brand of tires is the quietest?

Do you want to stick with a summer tire or an all season? It's more the class of tire that will determine ride noise than brand. Quietest options will come from the all season line of tires. They trade some handling to give back quieter ride and more longevity.

Would you recommend a couple of options for each class?

In the summer class, I'd look at the Yoko S-Drive and Bridgestone's RE760 Sport. Both also ride good and retain nice handling characteristics.

In the sport all season, check out the B-Stone RE960 or Yoko's Advan S4. The all season's will be quietest of the bunch and longest lasting.

Not trying to push Yoko/B-Stone, it's just they offer the better of what you're asking for.
