Bilstien/Swift installed correctly?
Purchased a set of used Bilstien MR struts with swift springs already installed on them for my IX SE. Already installed them but not sure if the rears are correct. I installed the rears the same as the stock SE where. The bottom spring perch has a step on it where the spring ends, both sides facing the rear of the car, so this is how I installed the Bilstien/Swift. My question.... the labels on the strut face inward on the drivers side and outside on the passenger, should they both be facing inwards or outward? Labels both face inward on the fronts. Hope this is not worded confusing thanks.
well on the fronts the bottom spring perch is eccentrically shaped, so you want the wider of the two "lobes" facing out, otherwise i don't believe the struts will clear.
but on the rears i don't believe it matters.
-edit-
also, if i remember correctly from the manual, there are holes in the upper and lower spring perches that you can use to make sure they are lined up correctly.
