225 too small for front wheels?
The infamous whining noise... Trust me/us, you'll know. But if you need more help A) there are a few threads with the "death whine" recorded, so you could hear it B) you could change the tc fluid and see if it has metal flakes in it real bad.
I ran my 8 with 225 all around for a time (while my new enkeis arrived) on a set of Evo6 OZs. I know it's not the same as your case, but it was great fun! I got everywhere sliding on 4 wheels!
i think you're referring to this:

in that case, i don't have the death whine. whew. i did have a very soft whine but it seemed to have gone away once i got my tires replaced, which was like a few hours ago. i read that a soft whine in 1st and 2nd gear is normal and a decel whine is due to the clutch. i have ACT street, so maybe that's why? so does that mean my t-case is fine?

Or, next oil change you could just change the TC fluid (which you should be doing anyway IMO) and take a look at it. That'll give you piece of mind.
