Werd. No matter how many times I replace struts at work, I still get a little nervous each time. $hit would take your frickin head off.

Just remember most of the springs will have the rears sitting lwoer than fronts for weight reasons.

You are right, it is under a lot pressure. When I was at home and did mine there was no spring compressor to be had, so I simply wrapped a large towel around the top hat and spring and left a small whole at the top, then slowly use the ratchet and loosen it till it "pops"

The lowered spring didnt need the compressor.

I dont recommend anyone to do it this way but it is an option.

I was in the same situation as you... bought the car with S-techs, alignment was all wacky so I got Swifts.. haven't looked back since.

I installed the tein stech springs on my car a few months ago and I love how mine are. Maybe they have an updated kit for the 06? A spring compressor makes the install a lot easier. its worth the money to rent one.

Wow I'm suprised? I have S-tech and have no problem and I have 18 by 9's? Have had them for two years? Granted the car does sit really low

I'm getting rid of my S-techs. They're not horrible springs a bit bouncy but they don't handle like I'd like them too. The car doesn't feel confident.

GTWorx/Racecomp springs if you can still get them... keeps better suspension geometry, and are about 10% stiffer than the Swifts (which are too low for me).
