NTO3s and me, what do i need + alignment spec?

NTO3s and me, what do i need + alignment spec?

Alright well i have been searching and doing a lot of research on these wheels and what it takes to run them and things of that sort. They are the 18x9.5 +27 offset. Alright so i know that i need a minimum of 10mm spacer up front and that i dont need one in the rear. The car is on coilovers so i know i will need rolling probably all around. Will i need extended wheel studs in the front and rear??? Ok so lets talk about tires. Since money is a little tight i was thinking about running the falken rt615 in 255/40/18 just because they fit more in my budget. Yes i know that the dunlops stars are better but im not sure if i can afford them this time around. This car is my daily and weekend warrior and i do autox a lot and plan on doing road racing next year as well. With that being said, what kind of alignment setup should i be running as a mix match of roadracing, autox, and daily setup. I was thinking -2 up front and -1 in there rear with 0 toe. Also with that camber setup will the wheels and tires fit snugly? Anything else i need to know from people running this setup please let me know!!!

You will need extended lugs since your running spacers...it would be kind of dangerous if you didn't get extended lugs. Also with 18x9.5+27 you should get 255/35/18 not 255/40/18 because they are pretty tall. Last time i checked Azeni's don't come in 255/35/18 so your a little out of luck there. And for road racing Azeni's aren't the best since Azeni's overheat quickly.

If you AX at all and track plan on tracking get the Z1*'s. The 615s suck in comparison. Well you are in SM. Might as well use as much tire as you can then. Get 275s.

Alignment -2 up front works. I run a little more in the rear...-1.3-1.6 range.

How low are you? Fitting the tires snugly and setting the car up right shouldn't be paired together.

Have you been corner balanced? Do you have roll center correction kit?

For someone like me: DD and Weekend race car. Picking up a set of OE wheels and AS tires helps with keeping the fun set fresh.

thanks for helping smike i do appreciate it. I don't want to go crazy low or anything like that but i do want it to look decent. I have not been corner balanced and i need to get the geometry kit as well. If i were to run a sertain camber and alignment setting could i change wheels, then put my race set on and the alignment still be the same???

Definitely longer studs and I would go with 12mm spacers, not 10s if you are going to track the car. You need to roll the rear fenders for sure and run at least -1 if not -1.5 rear camber with that offset to make sure the tires tuck in on suspension compression. As far as tire size, definitely do a 35 series, not a 40 series. 255 would be the easiest. 265 if much harder and will rub the liners in front and require either more camber or more fender work than simple rolling, unless your ride height is high. 275s will require very significant modifications both front and rear, beyond just rolling the fenders. Not worth it for a street car IMO.

I ran those exact wheels with 265 35 18s in a couple of Redline Time Attacks in 2007.

EDIT: As far as front alignment, I ran -2.5 camber and the front tires just barely cleared upon compression with 12 mm spacers and stock unrolled front fenders. Ride height was 1 inch lower than stock.

Alignment is set at the hub not the tire. So yes, you can swap tires/rims and still be ok.

You need a lower profile than 40, mine rub on the sideskirt at full lock with a 35 profile tire.

Off the top of my head - fender rolling and hammering of a few seams on the inside of the wheel.
