Rear strut bar...

What do you think? They're REALLY inexpensive, but they say it'll fit the Lancer and the Evo VIII.

Worth it, you think? I'm talking like $50.

it is definetely worth $50! Any other rear brace wont outperform the next, they all do the same basic job of connecting the 2 strut towers. I personally can't give up the space in the trunk.

Their job isn't as simple as just connecting the two towers. They resist stress/tension/flex. With the right tools this can be measured. On the rear though, it will most likely be minimal.

ebay and www.procarparts.com

for the record, a lot of people have put them on their lancer and it fits perfectly. the front strut in the same style DOES NOT FIT. the rear lower tie also fits the lancer.

not sure about the evo, but should fit in the trunk the same.

Yeah, I am totally disgusted that I bought a rear STB for my Talon for 120 bucks from Buschur Racing! Ugh, I took one look @ my 120 dollar STB and compared it to my brothers $35 pilot rear STB and there was no difference. Damnit...... Good price man, pick it up!

I bought a $12 one for my old S14 off of ebay from them. Awesome quality for the money. Built exactly like the bars that I bought from Courtesy Nisssan for $60 a pop!

it will hurt more than help.. when you by a cheap strut tower bar that will flex it dosnt help at all .. CUSCO has a trianglr bar that works great.. buying cheap strut tower bars is like buying cheap tires IT DOESNT WORK plan fact

I don't agree with this at all.

You're saying that AIR is better than a poor strut bar? You've got to be kidding, right? I know air is a great insulator, but I didn't know it was a good structure support too.

Regardless, the above mentioned strut bar should be here in the next day or so. When I get it installed, I'll take pics and stuff.

I have to agree with you FIREBALL, something is better than nothing. Well, in this case anyway.

your right about the something better than air, but i would rather have air for two months and get the right strut mount... i was taking about buying crap... crap is bad.. just my opion... buy it right the frist time.. this is not a honda.. witch i used to own a turbo accord with over 300 hp to the wheels, and i found out by buying crap! will cost you more in the end..
