Megan coilover springs

Any experience with changing Megan coilover springs? What spring brand and rate? How about the results?

Are you looking for more drop with increased handling? or subtle drop with increase handling?

Swifts. and GTworx are two good ones

I think the OP means the springs that come on their coil-overs.

Swifts makes metric springs for coil-overs. However, you really need to know valving/susp characteristics (aka data) to properly spring a coil-over. I guaranty Megan does not have this information.

(I had Tracks and was going to re-spring them, which is how I found out about Swifts...ended up ditching the Tracks and running their Sports on HDs)

Why would you want to change the spring rates to begin with?

^ Because they're backwards. And their spring quality is not very good in comparison to Swift or Hyperco.

Exactly. I was considering Swift coilover springs; however do not know whether I can switch to 6k front and 7k rear without any concern about shock valving

^ I think you would be okay. Just make sure you get the right lengths and ID.

The street coils are 8k/6k. The tracks are 12k/10k.

I would just get another set of 8k springs and put them on the back to run 8k/8k.

I guess I am wierd or can't drive. I have run the Track (12k/10k) for about 9 months now and over 15k miles and they work great for me. On the track I run just a touch more dampening in the rear than front and the car is very stable consistant, and almost netruel handling wise. A snap of the wheel brings back end out and throttle keeps it where you want it. The only other suspension mod on the car is Perrins RSW with hard mounts.

yeah megan sells springs for both track and street version. i have the track version and may just buy the street version springs. i also have the metric spring specs but i'd have to get that for you later if you rather use a different manufacterer.

i dont believe there is a valving difference between megan street or megan track... just spring rate. switch to the megan spring street, done.

Have you tested the springs or the shocks? Or is this speculation because they are less expensive? I do realize they are backwards though.

Bump - Has anyone tried this?
Anyone know if the damper valving is the same for the street and track megan coilovers?

Are the spring dimensions (length and ID) the same front and rear, is it possible to just swap the stock springs ie: from 12/10 F/R to 10/12 F/R?

I'd like to get some experience with coilovers, and don't want to jump right into a $3000 set.

Yes, you can swap the 12k to the rear on this c/o.
