need new tires

I have the oem bbs rims and need to change the yokohama advans that came with it.

Since the advans are very expensive i was wanting to put in new cheaper tires for now, and buy new advans later on. I dont track the car, only regular street driving. As long as the size is 235/45-17, does it matter what brand the tires are ?

you can go with different sizes, and brand is entirely up to you. just check out the tire and wheel faq that is a sticky in this forum and it has reviews on good alternatives. just don't expect the same performance or even near the performance you had with the stockers.

The A046's were good, but that compound design is 6 years out now. Newer tires on the market offer more for WAY less. For similar, less expensive tires, check out Dunlop Z1's or B'stones RE01R's or Advan AD07.

Good lower priced summer option would be Sumitomo's HTR Z-III and the Kumho KU31. Both are good performers under $100.

I just got the Bridgestone REO1R and they are definitely not cheap. They are super amazing tires though, I've had them on for about 2 weeks now and I love them.

Z1's on tirerack are like $135 for 235/45/17.
