Swift Sports would be my recommendation on the Bilstein HD struts (they also work with the OE and MR struts). GTWorx springs are also great if you want a slightly higher spring v. Swifts.
Like all have mentioned (and Brian beat me to it) - handling will be better and it makes for a really nice ride. Combo'd with the HD struts give a very nice DD feel to the car and once on the track or AX course it makes a mean combo that is competitive.
Stay away from Tein S-Techs. They are too low and too soft. This means they are almost resting on the bump stops (stationary) and once you hit bumps they bottom out the strut - that is death to struts.

One thing I'll say is that the Swifts will have a slightly better looking drop if you plan on upgrading the wheels to larger diameter ones.

Is it just me or does the drop look a bit uneven? The front seems like it has a much bigger gap than the rear...
The wheel arches of the Evo are not the same front to rear.

Well, after doing some reading it looks like the DD suspension of choice for the Evo is surely the Swift springs.
One last question, what are the differences between the Swift Sport GSR and the Spec-R springs?

Swift Spec R's are a little stiffer. Same drop. Smike has run both.

Go stance! I was going to daily drive with mine. They are an amazing set up and great for everyday use. I parted out my 8 almost right after I put them on. They are for sale if you are interested. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...coilovers.html

Swifts are steller on the road and can handle some track abuse as the pics will show...

ive had the swifts on for 3 months and love the drop/handling. my friend has the teins and the drop is more aggressive and bumpier ride but his front right strut is done for. hes also had them on for over a year
o-townFLA - I think the Spec R's (don't think they were out when you had your Swifts) would have been better for you. They are stiffer and that tracking would be more well handled by them.
OGEvo8GSR - spring rates differ the two. For a DD car, I would get the Sports. The Spec R's are stiffer and more geared towards track/AX cars. I did track a whole bunch on my Sports. The did great! But now going to r-comps, I would over work them - so I now am testing the Spec R's for this season.

How about what are some good coilovers?
What are some springs that can lower it to about what the S-Techs are but better performance?
Could I pair them with my stock shocks?

There are no springs that work at the Teins drop.
