I have 265/35/18 on my Works CRi 18 x 8.5'' and works great. I have them only in the rear though with 235/35/18 up front. I don't do much course driving, I just like to see the wide tires in the rear, makes it look more aggresive from the back, I think. This is on Ksport coilovers (and by the way, they suck, I think i've gone through 3 complete sets, all free replacements but still, they leak for some reason. I wouldnt recommend these to anyone)

You do realize that your rolling diameter is different between your front and rear wheels which can fubar your powertrain. The overall diameter difference between the two is ~25.3in compared to ~24.5in. Basically your front wheels are spinning at a faster rate than the rears 824 revs/mile vs. 797 revs/mile

I didnt think that the width of the tire had much to do with that. I thought that it was the height of the wheel and rim which are exactly the same.. Maybe Im wrong, Im new.... I have them this way for close to 25000miles. I havnt had any issues yet.

That is part of the equation, the other part is the size of the tires used that also affect your overall rolling diameter. Hopefully you don't have any issues, just letting you know it could eventually lead to problems.

Yep, differential trying to control mismatched speeds. You can run differnt width wheels front to rear, but rolling diameter should be the same. We're not driving Mustangs right?

Oh, I see, you're talking about the rim itself being larger, but the tire size would need to be the same... And its funny that you should say something about a Mustang, I actually own a 91 mustang. Which has 325 in the back with 245 in the front.. but since thats rear wheel drive it doesnt matter, correct?

You're correct, RWD is unaffected by the mismatch diameter. Just look at the drag cars w/ monster slicks and little bike tires on the front.

When I originally got my evo the guy before me put new tires on it the day I picked it up and they were different front to rear, luckily I caught it after only a hundred or so miles...
