Anyone running 255 on 8.5?

Can I run 255 on 8.5" wide rims?

I know they will fit, but would it be ok in terms of handling (for spirited driving)...

pics would be great too.. I have 17x8.5 +30 wheels

I've got 255/40/17 Falken Ziex on my 17x8.5 +30 RPF1's I've never had any problems with rubbing and they handle great considering they're all-season tires. Many people put 255's on the stock wheels as well so I wouldn't be concerned.

Should fit an 8.5-10" wheel fine. Anything narrower it will be a bit pinched.

You'll be fine. A lot of people use 255 on 8.5 including myself.

it really depends on the ride height if you are dropped to low the 55's will rub the fender well, my 245's rubbed and i had to raise the car on all 4 corners

255/35 and 245/40 have the same contact patch.

only gain is steering response with the 35 profile.
