I tried them and then took them off. No bite and transfer under hard braking.

Installed them on several Evos and the owners have reported favorably for street use. They are very low noise pads. One owner even used these pads at the Horsethief Mile track at Willow Springs and was impressed. Still, probably not recommended for track use but they hold up very well.

I have recently installed F/R Wagner Thermo Quiet pads. Low dust, no noise and better overall performance than Hawk HPS.

I just had Thermo Quiet installed on the rear as I didn't have time to order and needed them quickly. I want to order some pad in for the front and was wondering if the Thermo Quiet are Ceramic or not. I think they are for some cars but not all. Do front and rear pads need to match as far as material (ceramic, semi-metallic, etc.)?

I was thinking of either Satisfied Pro:

Ceramic
SKU: PR904-C

Performance
SKU: PR904

Which should I go with to match up with the rear Thermo Quiet?

The Thermo Quiets for the Evo are ceramic and you don't want them. They stop well enough if you are used to driving a GM car with an automatic transmission where you either have your foot on the accelerator or the brake. You will have to watch for stop signs and get the brakes applied early. If you want a quick stop then you will have mash the pedal. While this is safe enough, the car does stop, it doesn't harmonize with the quick steering and handling of the car.

I sell these pads at work. They seem to have very good feedback from customers for daily driving. Low dust and noise from what i remember.

Are you sure? On the Federal-Mogul website it states "OE match friction material – semi-metallic, organic, and ceramic (ceramic alternatives available for select semi-metallic applications)"

I haven't noticed any diminished performance with the rear pads for daily driving but the fronts do provide most of the stopping power. I just need to decide what pad to order for the front.

/QUOTE]

Here's what it says on the Evo application pad box:

Contains carbon black, ceramic fibers, quartz, and 4-vinyl cyclohexane - chemicals know to the state of California to cause cancer (I guess if not in California you are safe). Does not contain asbestos. Also contains acrylic fiber, alumina, antimony sulfide, aramid fiber, barytes, brass chips, calcium caronate, cashew resin (cured), cellulose fibers, coal, coke, dititanate, elastomers, glass fibers, graphite, hydrated lime, iron, iron oxide, iron pyrite, kyanite, linseed oil resin (cured), magnesium oxide, mica, mineral fibers, phenolic resin (cured), rottenstone, silica, silicates, steel fibers, talc, titanate, vermiculite, vitreous fibers, whiting, wollastonite fibers, zinc oxide and zirconium compounds.

So, now that you know the recipe you could make your own.

I've tried the Wagner, AutoZone Duralast CMAX, EBC pads, and a few different ones from Tire Rack.... of those I think the most they were on the car was a little over 1100 miles.... I eventually went back to the Sumitomo pads that came stock on the car. And they were a pain in the **** to find.
