Evo 9 SE vs Evo 10 wheels

So I need some new wheels and one of the shops kind of talked me into getting some Evo X wheels instead of getting Evo 9 SE wheels. It makes sense because I could run wider tires but would it hurt me in acceleration. hoping you guys could help me out with my choice.

The shop is ready to sell me a set of 10's w/ Advans for same price as the SE wheels with no tires.

Evo X Pros:
They are a wider wheel
Standard tire size is 245
They look cool

Cons:
The SE wheels are like 4lbs lighter.
Tires are more expensive

That's all I've got so far.

^ You sure that the X has a wider wheel? I thought they were both 8" with a +38 offset.

The X does however have a 245 tire, and the 8/9, a 235.

Straight line acceleration will be decreased with the X wheels since they are heavier, turn-in and steering response won't feel quite so quick, but the wider tire should help ultimate cornering grip. If it were me, I'd take the X wheels w/tires for the same price as the SE BBS's wheels w/o tires. With that said, I currently have IX MR BBS wheels on my car and really like them since they are so strong and lightweight.

I was told that the X's would increase my understeer were as the SE wheels would decrease it. Is this true.

Wouldn't the Wider tires help me from a dig though, or does it not matter?

Not necessarily because there's more rotational mass now so it's going to take more force to get the car moving which ultimately means slower 60 ft times.

I would stick with the BBS rims myself. Ten rims do not look right on the 9. Not only that the slightly wider 10 rims don't provide any benefit as you can run a 255 tire on the BBS rims. If you go any wider you'll need to roll the rear fenders.

The BBS rims are lighter, stronger, and look better.

Well different strokes for different folks. I don't like those especially in ghetto gold! It looks like it has toy wheels on it! Nearly everything about that car is dicked up. The wingless look + VG, a crooked fart can, an unpainted lip, senior citizen window vents, even the ugly orange side markers make me want to puke. Sorry for going off topic.

I'm not sure if the OP has lowered the car either but 18" wheels on stock suspension looks like complete crap. I just don't see why one would want to downgrade to a heavier wheel.

If you need change you might as well just get a set of Rota's. They would be more unique and probably cost less as well.
