The ebrake light also works for the brake light . Usually means that your brake fluid is low or that something in your brake system is failing . (Might also have air)

^^ +1. It doubles as a warning light when something is afoul in you braking system. Have it checked

Mine was also doing the same thing last week. I noticed that my pads were low so I replaced those with some Hawk HPS pads and now the light is gone.

When your pads wear out, the level of your brake fluid gets lower too because there's more room. So if your pads are almost gone, replace them, or if you decide to refill the fluid, don't fill it up to the full because it will go over when you swap the pads in the end.

That is if the case is low fluid, which it most likely is from what you described.

I had this issue. It's the brake fluid. Add more and see what happens. If it goes out, your fine. If the brake light comes on and off again. Have it checked out.

The same thing happened to me. You need new pads. I just put fluid in at first which made the light go away. However when I changed the pads, I had to take some of the fluid out because there was way too much in there at that point. If you dont know how, read some posts, get a few tools and change the pads yourself. Its really simple with disc brakes. I dont know, but im sure it costs an arm and a leg to have it done at a shop.

i am at almost 31k on my evo and my light came on last week too. I thought it was due to it being F'in cold out. I would release the e-brake and the light would stay on about as long as it took for the car to warm up. I will check the pads, at 31k it might be time!!!!
