Spring Install help, this okay?

So I just installed my front springs, (swift) and I went through the guide on evomoto.com

The question I have is, on both of them I was told to line up the spring into the "grooves" the old spring set in the rubber. If its off a little bit does it matter? On my top groove the plastic came off... So I totally lost how it was setup before.

Let me know if its something I should make sure is done 100% or what I am saying doesnt sound like a big deal.

EDIT: New quesiton, I replaced my rear spring today and I don't know if this is known or not but the inside of the strut nut has a small layer of silicone (im assuming to help keep it on) and from the douchebag previous owner who put a strut bar he totally messed up the top of my strut bolt so I had to WD40 the **** out of my nut and it ended up deteriorated my silicone layer, is this super important, aka should I go get a new nut or no

Naor

I don't think that is a big deal at all...you may hear some "clunking" from the springs shifting.

I'd say the bottom is probably half a finger off, maybe less. And the top I really have no way of knowing because the "indent" in the rubber is totally not where it used to be. So on the top I don't know but the top cover only sits ONE way doesnt it? So that can't be too off.

The rubber should move. You can take it out of the top mount and adjust it.

Yes I know, but unlike on the bottom of the strut there is no specific fit of the rubber. It can go in any way cause its just simple round.

Bottom strut you line up with the spring. Top mount can be turned and adjusted to fit the new spring.

There 2 holes in the top and bottom plate. Theres 3 on the bottom i believe its the middle hole. Ans theres one on top the same size u gotta look close b.c its not much bigger than the other holes make sure these 2 holes are lined up when u get the spring set it in place. If not the spring will rotate when u turn the wheel and make a poping noise. But It should be noticeable where the spring sat inside the strut plates. Good Luck with your install!

Only 1 hole on my strut (MR). I didnt have anything long enough to go through the holes at the place I did my passenger side so i dunno but my driver side definitely fit through the holes so im sure that one is fine.

Smike, I know it can be adjusted a little and thats somewhat of the problem, the rubber fell out and the rubber has no specific way of fitting back onto the cover. Do you get what im saying? So the "indent" on the rubber is meaningless because the rubber can fit any which way back onto the top cover. Meaning all I can do is poke through that hole I guess but I didnt have anything to poke through.

The rubber can be turned to fit the new ending on the Swift spring. Then attach and line up the top mount holes, then tighten it down.

The rubber will fit the spring no matter how its on it..... Its simply round, how could it not fit lol. I guess I just need to take my wheel off and just get under the car and see if the holes are lined up enough or not.
