can wheel center caps come off by themselves or did I get jacked.

I was wondering because when I left my friends house to go home, I didn't bother to look at my wheels but once I had arrived at my home two center caps had fallen off or they may have been stolen by someone. I would really like some clarity on this as I'm clueless as how I'm now missing two center caps. I'm so heated right now.

I say both evo skillz.. you can pry them with a flat head.. and a nasty bump w/ speed can do the trick but most likely.. you got JACKED!!

They most likely scratched up your wheels too then. Do you they have signs of dents and scratching from prying?

I just checked to see if my wheels are damaged around where the center cap area is and no apparent damage has been made. what do I need to order - just the center cap or do I need to order something in addition to that. Thanks for your responses guys

What wheels are these caps to? I know that on the stock enkies there is a metal retaining clip so in order to take them off the wheel must come off. It doesnt mean that someone cant try to pry them out but I just thought id mention that.

On the other hand my center caps for my gram lights are held in just by friction so those are definitely possibly to take out without removing the wheel. Hope this helps!

lol might as well take the rim dont you think? Ive seen center caps fall off on the freeway so they probably fell off if theres no signs of somebody prying them off. Are they missing on the same side?

They can't "Fall off" they can only "Fall in" they are still in between the wheel and the hub.

i lost two centercaps, and i know they werent stolen because i put them on the beginning of the track day, and then they were gone going back on the trailer lol. it happens, and i REALLY doubt anyone would jack your stock centercaps, especially remove your wheel, not steal it, then retorque it. i assume you dont have any wheel locks then lol.

they fall out all the time.

That's definitely true for the 8 stock Enkeis - they press in from the back and then have a metal retaining ring keep them on. Is that how the 9s' Enkeis work too? If so, it would seem really odd for them to disappear unless the plastic fatigued and they broke into pieces.

its usually not the fatique of the plastic, but rather, tire shop guys killing them during the removal reinstallation process for balancing.
