So I installed these Cusco camber plates about a month ago because my oem mounts where cracking and causing noises. Since I installed these I have been hearing the springs binding and making a popping noise when the wheel is turned alot in either direction. I went to NTB to get a alignment done and told them about the popping noise which was bothering me. They aligned the car and inspected the noise. Turns out that it is the bottom of the camberplate rubbing up agaist the top of my Tein coilovers. The metal on metal contact is causing it to skip and pop.

I know that others have been wondering what causes this strange noise..and now I hope to have the answer. My issuse now is to find out if when I bought the camberplates if they are missing some type of cushoning or something. If anyone has these can you let me know if they came with some type of padding for coilovers! Thanks EvoM-Jason

I had those same camber plates til about 3-4 weeks ago on the MR oem bilsteins, before i got the new CO's.

They didn't make a sound on mine..
But i'm not sure how the exact setup was, never really looked at em.
But i dont think there is any kind of cushion you are talking about.
Pillowball joint might be worn out.

I'm sure some of the tire/shock/suspension guys will chime in and let ya know.

What tein coilovers do you have?

I think there should be a rubber gasket kinda thing that goes in there..
At least thats what it looks like from other tein coilovers I could find with a google search.

So I called up Tein about this issue. Turns out there is supposed to be a collar (spacer) that serprates the upper seat of the coilover from the mount.Therefor they wont rub together and cause the "popping" noise. I have them ordered and hope this fixes the problem.

These spacers are supposed to come with Cusco plates. Mine did not.
From above, I gather they are not needed with OEM Bilsteins?
If there are needed, anyone know where I can get em? Will the tein pieces work? Does cusco sell them separate?
Help guys! Thanks.
