You should not do this.

Not all coilovers are too stiff. I got Tein's Flex they are stiff. Look at the Tein comfort sport or Super Street Damper with pillow mount! Here is the link:

why not just save up for a complete coilover system.

but if want to go for the spring/strut set up, i would go with swift sports and bilsteins

Get Eibach Prokit springs with the Evo MR Bilstein shocks. This will be the most comfortable Evo combo I can think of.

Terrible idea to only do front.

See my blog (in sig) for all my Swift reviews.

I was looking at tirerack.com and i looked for suspension products for a 06 evo MR and i saw the Bilstein Sport Strut for the front and back, it says they are heavy duty and are in the autocross/track class .... would these struts be comfortable with the swift springs ??

Also would the struts be a comfortable ride and stable on performance with the swift springs on the Evo 9 RS ? And would the strut blow out easily ?

Really, see my blog. I was one of the first to run and race the Bilstein HDs on Swifts.

Not recommended. Either go struts & springs or full coilover setup. Whichever route you go with just make sure to pick the right spring rate and height to keep suspension geometry close to stock. Otherwise, you're going to have to upgrade your ball joints to something taller.
