255/40 tire on bbs rim
Im in the process of buying tires and im leaning toward the nitto nto1 size 255/40. I want to stay on my stock mr se bbs rims. Will that size tire fit on my stock rims without any fender modification's? Im lowered on tein s-techs if that matters.
Thank's in advance...

if i were you, i'd get some NT05's. they are supposed to be really good on the track, and they'll make it on the street.
also, those first few guys know NOTHING. 255/40/17 is the BEST size you can get for your stockers. i've been running that size for 3 years now. fits perfectly. no rubbing, and i'm dropped 1.5-2" all around on buddy club racing specs

Yeah, you won't need any fender rolling especially you're dropped on Springs. Springs don't make the car THAT low. And you putting on 255/40 NT01s. Those tires are SUPER buttery for the track, but for track, good luck, they will NOT last you too long. Maybe look into the Toyo Proxes TiR (Street Tire and alt more threading for daily driving)?

255-40-17 on stock rims
I just put 255-40-17 Dunlop Star Spec Z1 tires on my stock evo 8 Enkei rims (painted black). They do not rub at all (even turning the front wheels lock to lock) and the extra 20 mm of width actually fills the wheel well and looks much better than stock even though I have lowered springs (GF210's). The increased cornering ability and responsiveness is fantastic. This would be my first handling upgrade after the stockers wear out. I can't see how an extra 20 mm of width on the stock 8" rim will somehow cause problems or ruin the ride or handling. Look around at other vehicles where the tire seems to be much wider than the rim and these are from the factory. I don't see the big issue. Its a no brainer, really.

this has been covered a bunch and comes down to personal preference. i have 245 re01rs on stock wheels and a set of nt01s on stock wheels (245). the nittos have a super still side wall so should be good in that size for the track only. with the bstones at the track i was scrubbing sidewall on my front tires real bad causing serious wear. with the nittos im good.
it all comes down to what type of track time, how many street miles, and driving style. road course you could be good, autoX you may scrub that wide. there only 100 treadwear so they will get toasted on the street.
listen to smikes advice tho, he really knows his stuff and has helped me out numerous times. gl with watever route you go man.
