Anti Lock Brake Light on???

Hi guys,

My car's anti lock brake light in currently on.. We bled the brakes and they are working fine.. A lot was changed on this car so I'm thinking it could probably be numerous things at this point.. Maybe the plug got mangled? Where are the Anti Lock Brake connector harnesses at on this car so I can go over all of them?

Here is a similar thread from 2008 but he posted in the "AEM" section.. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh....php?p=6295037

Thanks guys

Dirty ABS sensor

Damaged ABS sensor

Only two culprits that come to mind for me.

I work w/ semi trailers (All have ABS since 98') & a sensor fault is likely....You mentioned a lot was done......Did you change out the hub?.....The sensor requires a minimal gap to the tone ring on the hub.(Not sure if the EVO sensor is gapable) ...If the gap is too large the ABS ECU will throw a code......Let us know, Peace

I'm going to check these... Where exactly is the ABS sensor? I know there is rubber lines by the wheels that are the ABS wires (i believe), but where is the actual sensor? thank you

This might be the case.. There was a lot done.. all suspension mods pretty much.. like all control arms were off, pads were changed, rotors were changed, coilover suspension put on, etc..

check the wires going to each sensor they can become damaged from heat or chaffing.

Everything looks in good shape.. The ABS lines are the vacuum looking lines right? The ones opposite of the brake lines? This is so weird how this light is on.. The only thing I can think of is the fact that they might not be routed exactly like stock now since I have a new coilover setup that mounts them a little bit different than stock.. Would that affect it?

the abs cables that run to your hub assembly or commonly known as wheel bearings have a magnet at the end of it where it goes into the hub assembly. if the magnet is dirty or it has been cracked or damaged in any way it will throw your abs light. if you go to a mechanic and have him check the wheel speed with his scantron tool he will be able to tell you which one is bad. you have to be driving the car with the scantron tool, when you drive it the wheel speed should be the same speed for every wheel. if the wheel speed is significantly different from the rest. you will know what i mean when you do this. then that is the sensor that is bad. for example if your doin 40mph all your wheel sensors should read that speed, now if one is bad it might read a lot less like 5-10mph or maybe a lot more. you should get what i mean now. if not then send me a pm and i will help you figure this problem out. good luck

Thanks a lot.. I hope I will be able to figure this problem out soon! I am most likely going to be taking my car to mitsu to have them bleed my acd, maybe they can look at the abs stuff as well. I will keep you updated, thanks man!

Check the code and list that it may isolate the problem to 1 area or 1 wheel.

I took the car to the stealership and they said they cannot communicate with the ABS at all with their computer to tell me the code... I'm really starting to wonder what the deal is now.. The same on my ACD, they cannot communicate with it.. Any ideas?
