Alignment marks for rear toe & camber

How much of a degree does each mark mean? I counted 17 total marks for the rear camber, the 9th mark being the center mark. I have the factory manual, and I don't recall it ever mentioning what the marks signified?

Ok, this is what the manual said:

rear toe: NOTE: The scale has gradations of approximately 3.3 mm
(0.13 inch) (single side toe angle equivalent to 19'’).

rear camber: NOTE: The scale has gradations of approximately 14’'

What does the ( ' ) mark mean? Would the " 14' " mean something like a fraction of a degree since that's what camber is measured in?

If you are trying to DIY camber and toe - there is no real way to do via marks and sight. Using a calibrated angle finder and string method can be done or going to a shop with an alignment rack.

I just had an alignment done, but I'm not 100% sure they put it to the factory settings. For one, they said they adjusted the caster, which the factory manual says isn't adjustable. Plus they couldn't tell me what their computer had listed for the factory settings. I, of course, already had them written down, but I just wanted to double check to see they had the same ones. I'm gonna check with another shop across the street to see if they'll check the settings to make sure the toe and camber are set correctly. People have such a bad habit of being lazy and half-a$$ing things nowadays that I don't trust anyone working on my car except for me. I wish they would just let me do the alignment myself, it's so easy.

They're minutes, 1/60 of a degree. Silly old units.

You are rt on! Most of these guys dumb down the measurements on their machines so instead of settings that are .00 you get the ones that are .0 or worse 0.0, so they can be close but not specific. You on the other hand get an alignment that is 1.0 in camber but is actually 1.89 but close enough for the shop. Hell I had a shop flat lie to me about aligning the rear end, I asked them specifically while the car was in the air and I knew the didnt touch the rear.. well not again. Stay on them bud, demand before and after measurements.

Go to a GOOD shop and ask them to set the front toe at 0 and rear toe at 0 or slight toe in. If you're well aquainted with oversteer, I'd have the rear toe adjusted out a little. Keep the toe 0 or in, you'll have much better high speed stability but be more likely to understeer. I always adjust my front toe slightly out. It helps with mid-corner understeer. Camber I have -2 front and -1 rear.

I wouldn't go by the notch marks on the bolt.

The guy said his printer ink was out, plus he said he adjusted the caster, which the factory manual says that it can not be adjusted. I'm getting the alignment checked at another shop to see what it actually is.
