yeah koni inserts sound like the most practical approach. i have a set sitting here to go in my 2011 wrx and they adjust at the top of the rod and arent too bad to install.

No problem. I contacted Jason Harrison at Koni. If you would like his e-mail just pm me. I dont want to throw that info out here. He was always responding very quickly to my emails and requests.

I've run Koni inserts before on one of my old Civics and loved them... after I finally got a set matched up. Just like any other mid-grade damper the consistency out of the box is good, not great. It took me a few iterations of changing shims and pre-charge to get a all 4 where I wanted them but I was very pleased with the results. I am just lucky I have access to a dyno.

Eibach has shown interest in doing these for me but the tooling investment is substantial, I'm just waiting for someone to convince me to pull the trigger lol

to stamp out the perches? yeah, i can imagine it would be very expensive. i still think gutting the stock housings for inserts is the safest bet.

It would be the cheapest option, but what a huge PITA it would be for installation lol

Koni said they had something that might work (not sure if it was the 8611 or something else) but it was nearly $2000 for the set or something in that ballpark

That is too much..... you might as well get coil overs at that point.

Exactly, our solution from Eibach would be available in both adjustable and non and be much more affordable

Unless you have an evo that races in a class that doesnt allow coilovers but you wanted upgrade options. Most folks here dont need coilovers and all that adjustability wont be necessary anyhow. Just because its a coilover doesnt mean its automatically gonna be better. Plus, at 2k you are just getting in a price range with the lower end coilovers, which the Koni option should be sturdier vs a cheaper coilover design (being it uses the oem design), imo. The Konis wont give you the cool adjustability features, but if they are valved to your setup already, chances are most folks wont be fiddling around with that too much.

The question is this now, at 2k how much better will the konis be vs a revalved Bilstein, idk. Bilsteins could be bought and re valved for much cheaper.

Im just wondering why companies like Tokico or koni, who make lots of import suspension parts dont seem to offer strut upgrades for the evo.
