Correct. You cannot use performance summer tires in the winter, or temps below 40 deg.

I went with the Conti Extreme's. Just put them on last Thursday.

I put on the WS 50's (235/45/17) on Saturday, ride is a little softer, and they are much quieter than the Advans (wierd to have snow tires be quieter than my "normal" tires!). They have very little cornering grip compared to the Advans, but work just fine in a strait line....and I bet they work great in snow and ice! I will let everyone know after we get some bad weather here.

PS: They cost me $606 to buy including shipping.....and $60 to mount.... you do the math!
