This thread got big fast. I love my Falken Ziex-912s. Great price, awesome traction in the rain and they're Z rated.

I have the hankook ventus V12 EVO's on my M3, after reading the car and driver "budget tire test" they did a few months back, where they came in 2nd place, and were as good in the dry but better in the wet than PS2's, I was sold. I can say after owning PS2's, that they are as sticky in the dry, and ride really nice. They wear somewhat quick, but that's what you get with a semi-soft tire.

I have the BFG G force sports in 255/40's I've put 17k miles on them so far. They are a decent set of tires. The main reason I got them was because they last long, my last set lasted over 40k and they are a decent price.

I went with kumho SPT as I travel far to surf and lots of highway miles. Lots of low temperature here in Montreal and don't expect to track just yet this year....

Found a very good deal at tires-easy.com at 64$ a poop for 255/40/17, pretty nice price for a all around good tire. 256$ for 4 tires are you kidding me

These were quite possibly the worst tires I've ever had. Steering felt vague and the tires got really greasy really fast on canyon runs. The only good thing about them was they lasted me something like 20k miles. Replaced them with Hankook Ventus V12's and hoping for a better experience.

The summer isn't even finish and the SPT are shoot. HAted these tires...... NOT RECOMMENDING them. Noisy as hell and not grippy. (about 8000 miles)

I'll try the HAnkook V12 next

I didn't have a good experience with the Kumho's. I only got about 18,000 out of them and I couldn't wait for them to wear out! I have heard good things about the Dunlops, I use their winter tires and they are fantastic.

How many miles do you think you can get out of Star Specs for a daily driver with some occasional spirited driving? 25k?

I ended up buying the Sumitomo HTRZIII. I like them so far. Quiet ride, good grip, and at 10,000 miles, they look pretty new still.
