Just got new rubber!! a must read!

ok guys...so far i have gone from the advans to bridgestone potenzas(which got dry rotted for sitting ONEEE winter with only about 5k miles on them!) needless to say i was able to send them back after numerous arguments with tire.com. i asked for the nitto nt555's with some cash credit to me for the difference in tire price...but i have not been so happy with the gripping of the nittos especially after first having the advans! the only plus side of the nittos were how many miles i got out of them but if your a true EVO owner/lover then u know that the right tire means a worlddd of difference in the handling aspect...so i went and bought the new Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs and i have to say that i could NOTT be happier...handling wise they are abviously still not quitee up to parr with the advans but i would say they are a definate second place winner...and for what they cost id have to give em first place..veryyy very sticky without even having to be warmed up first, also a very strong sidewall for that extra cornering stability! but thanks to all for readin i hope i didnt bore you haha, just trying to throw some first hand knowledgable info out there but if ur looking for tires and dont wanna spend $1250, these r the tires for you!

^ haha apparently he didnt sense the sarcasm...unless he was also going along with it. Either way thanks for the review. My next tires will be the star specs. Interested to see what they can do.

Star Specs are pretty much one of the best street tires you can buy for an Evo

i also love how tirerack has them in 265/40/17 since thats the same size outside diameter as stock and they'd be perfect for my 17x9 fn's

new Z1's? Haven't these been out for more than a year? At least since the beginning of last summer. Or have there been modifications to the original design?

^Its the same tire, nothings changed. I think they've been out for close to two years now, I could be wrong on that though.

There have been two versions of the Dunlop Z1 tires; the first release and Star Spec release.

Same tread pattern and carcass. The difference was in a reformulation of the tread compound.
