Exclamation need help on vibration/humming

the car is an 03 evo8 and im having a slight vibration and humming sound coming from the front of the car while driving. i thought it was the tires so i replaced them with new one. still there. thought it could be a wheel bearing but there is no play in the wheels. it also goes away when i make left hand turns. the only thing out of place on the car is that the front right axle looks like it threw some grease but i think if that were bad i would have clicking sounds during turns. any input guys? thanks

Its the wheel bearing i had a similar sound and there was no play on the wheel so a friend told me to pull the axle out and remove the rotor and yup sure enough it was a bad wheel bearing , there was no play just grinding noises .

Also check the brakes and axle .

Good luck

A wheel bearing going bad does not necessarily have to be loose but can make noise. From the description, it sounds like a wheel bearing especially that it goes away when turning.

Wheel bearings don't have to have play to be bad. Out of ALL the wheel bearings I've ever replaced, which is well about 20-30 wheel bearings, three had play, but they ALL made noise.

I've never replaced a wheel bearing on an Evo, but I suspect I may be needing to soon I'm waiting for it to get worse to determine if it's the wheels beairng or not. Until then, I don't care

I'm thinking this may be the problem with my car. It makes this vibration, but its only around 3k rpms. I thought if it was a wheel bearing it would do it all the time, but maybe its not that bad yet.
