humming noise during right turns

My car started making humming noise during right turns at the end of last year. Since most of the tracks I go to are clock wise (more right turns), I thought it might have been the left front wheel bearing. So I replaced both front wheel bearings and there was a slight play in the front left wheel bearing as I suspected. But when I went to the track last weekend, the noise was still there. It seems to be louder during light throttle and sweeping right turns. Or maybe I can't hear it as good when on full throttle because of the exhaust.

Can it be the rear diff, tcase or front diff? Or maybe front axle? i dont really feel any vibration, just hear the noise.

You can hear the noise at 1:00 and 2:30 minute mark during right turns.

Sounds like something is rubbing, Do you still have the plastic guards on?
If they are not Riveted down, they will rub especially in the wind and during turns.

^ that's what it sounds like to me at first. I checked all the splash guard and in the wheel welds. There are some rub marks on the splash cover that have worn all the way through but those have been there for a couple years, before the noise even started.

Forgot to mention I have TRE 1.5 way max grip rear diff and acd reflash. Could the diff plates or gears be worned out and causing noise? I change the rear diff fluid about every 10 track days, doesn't seem to be any metalic in the fluid.

Has this noise occurred on more than one set of tires?

Now that I'm thinking about it, I remember it being more noticeable during decel. I remember it was loud entering the boot at the glen when I let off the gas.

Anyone thinks its axle related?

Does it make noise if you turn right without a lot of lateral load? I would think axel noise would be dependent on steering angle more than weight transfer.

You mention front wheel bearings... have you checked the rear? I had a rear wheel bearing bad in my evo when I bought it. Previous owner said it was rear diff noise because it has the shep full plate rebuild. It was loud enough that it was hard to tell where it was coming from other than behind me, but it only did it when turning left. Replaced right rear bearing and it was gone.

Aaron, the noise is louder with higher lateral load. when i exit a highway ramp at high speed, i can hear it. I replace the front wheel bearings but not the rear. i shake the rear wheel and there doesn't feel loose. i think i will just replace the rear wheel bearing just to eliminate the possibility. did the noise from your wheel bearing sound the same?

I wanna say yes, but that was 2 years ago. I also did the wheel shake test and felt no play, but it definitely was bad.

UPDATE:

i as driving on the highway last week and i can hear the noise very loud when i swerve right quick. the noise was definitely coming from the rear. so i decided to replace the rear left wheel bearing/hub. the noise is complete gone. so i'll probably just get bearings and press out the bearings from the old hub to swap out the right side, then all the bearing will be new and i don't have to worry about them for awhile. i'm surprise that the rear went out before the front though.

you can see all the grease that came out the old bearing, probably all dried up in there.

Nice! I probably should do my bearings just as preventative maintenance. Maybe this next off season.
